Rick Matis, Chief Executive Officer
Rick Matis is the founder and President of Tilt‐Tech Construction Ltd., a large construction and development company located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Rick and his company have over 30‐years’ experience in the development and construction of major projects across Canada. Mr. Matis has extensive experience in materials handling and recycling as well as mining, agriculture, and environmental restoration projects. He has extensive experience in project management, heavy equipment, facilities design, civil works, procurement, and construction of waste recycling projects and material handling projects. His experience also includes project management and procurement of a waste‐to‐energy and waste recycling project located in the Philippines.
Doug Quade, Chief Operating Officer
Doug Quade brings over 27‐years’ experience in the delivery of complex projects to international governments and private clients. Doug maintains a deep skill set in program management, contract administration, site management, asset management and development, construction management, risk identification, contractual program process and procedures. Doug was co-founder and Director of Administration and Development for SPEC Company International Ltd., constructing multi-million-dollar projects around the world before merging with Parsons Corporation in 1994, and has recently worked as a special consultant to Parsons focusing on Middle East and Eastern European development projects. He was General Manager of Saudi Arabian Parsons Ltd., and built a multi-billion-dollar business for Parsons in Saudi Arabia. He has recently completed additional complex projects for Saudi Arabian Parsons Ltd., and ARAMCO as well as other renewable energy projects domestically and internationally.
Richard Haywood, Vice President Logistics
Richard Haywood, currently the owner and President of Northwest Orient Group has been in this role for over 35 years providing extensive international heavy equipment products and services. Richard’s expertise includes the procurement of heavy equipment and parts from both foreign and domestic markets, plus management experience in road building, forestry and logistics.
Richard specializes in creating unique solutions for resource based businesses and infrastructure construction projects, his responsibilities have included overseeing undertakings located in isolated areas reliant on barging, helicopter and aircraft transport. His entrepreneurial ventures, which have all included significant investment, encompass land development, mining, treatment plants, and wood chips for BC pulp mills.
Richard has had the distinguished honour of being both founder and owner of a Samsung/Volvo heavy equipment dealership that became the “6th Fastest Growing Company in Canada,” according to the Profit 100 List. Richard’s extensive knowledge and credibility in the equipment industry has enabled him to offer consulting services in mining, pipeline construction, forestry and energy.
Additionally Richard was the founding partner of Continental Environmental Systems, a company that developed processes to deal with waste disposal in Vancouver, BC, utilized by the Genstar Group. Richard was also the founding partner of “KMC Energy Ltd.” later merging into “Wind River Power Corp” (Calgary Alberta), a privately owned green energy company focused on run of river and wind power. Richard’s special interests include waste-to-energy, cold storage, and aqua farming.
